In 1966 the National Film Board of Canada made a film deeming skateboarding as the ‘Devils Toy’ that depicted the start of the stigma attached to skateboarding that we still notice and feel to this day.
Many decades prior to mass production that we know today, apparently skateboards were often built by hand using parts like these with Clay Wheels, Loose Ball Bearings, and Rollerskate Style Trucks. For the first series of 10: This shape is respectively called the ‘Rat Trap’ for a couple of reasons : 1) the shape itself resembles a rat trap and 2) we are paying homage to the ‘street rat’ mentality of the early pioneers of the ‘Roots of Skate’. Lured, trapped in what can be described as “Seen Him”, experiencing balance and connection. The search continues. For those that know…they know.
